How To Draw A Woman

Learn How To Draw A Woman Quickly

We begin in the upper left corner with the lady’s head, or, rather, the lower half of it (00 min 06 sec). You’ll need to create a shape that looks like a “V” – that’s the first step in our how to draw a Woman tutorial. Once it’s in place, add the facial features (00 min 15 sec). They are all very basic and consist of simple shapes.

The hair is the next step (00 min 35 sec). Now, instead of just drawing long lines all over the place, cover the top of the head with a curvy line and then draw another curve above it just like you see in my example. If you’re happy with everything, bring in those lines. The neck kicks off a new stage in our how to draw a Woman tutorial – the body (00 min 55 sec).

It is pretty much identical on both sides. At the same time, her left hand is closer to the body than the right one and the legs are in slightly different positions. The dress looks like the top of a bottle (01 min 24 sec). Don’t forget about the hair between the hands and the body (01 min 40 sec). The shoes are nice and cute (02 min 00 sec).

Before you learn how to draw A Woman, did you know?

Without a doubt, women are the biggest inspiration for any artist out there. Even the greatest masters of the 15th and 16th centuries relied heavily on the ladies as their muses. And while it’s very difficult to draw human beings, as there are many sophisticated details, in this tutorial, we’ll be working on a rather basic image.

That doesn’t mean it doesn’t look good. On the contrary: while you won’t need any professional skills to pull this off, the end result will still look pretty great. Just follow my instructions and make sure you get everything right before moving on to the next step.

Some Things To Keep In Mind…

These tutorials are only here to guide you. Your drawing does not need to look "identical" to mine.

Start with rough but light pencil strokes that you can work into the shapes you want.

Once you have your rough drawing completed, go over it in a darker stroke for your final drawing.

Add shading and/or color to complete if desired.

Using this technique you will be able to draw anything after some practice... even without following step-by-step tutorials.
