Learn How to draw A Boat Quickly & Easily!

Most of us love boats as we have been big fans of them since our childhood days. In this post, we’re not going for something fancy or over-complicated. In the following how to draw a Boat tutorial you’ll master the art of creating a simple yet beautiful sea vessel. Even if this is your first time holding a pencil in your hands, I promise you’ll get everything right in time.

Naturally, we should start with our rough sketch. Without it, we’ll be blind and it will be significantly harder to get the proportions right. Start with two horizontal lines at the very bottom that will turn into the sea later (00 min 37 sec). Next, draw a straight vertical line from the top of the paper to the bottom (00 min 50 sec).

The following three curves are the deck. As for the rest of the lines that come after them, they’re actually the body of our vessel (01 min 15 sec). It’s time to turn our ok boat into one that will look great in any environment.

We begin at the very bottom of the ocean (01 min 59 sec). It’s a repetitive pattern of zigzaggy curves. Once you’re done with that, move on to the bottom of the boat (02 min 43 sec). Start at the top and draw two curvy lines for the main sail.

Next, create a tiny circle at the upper border of your piece of paper and take two straight lines down to the foundation of the boat. And after you put in the second sail, you’ll be almost done with this guide (04 min 03 sec). Don’t forget to add the additional fragments on this lovely sea vessel and clean the rough strokes up before moving on to coloring (04 min 39 sec). You don’t have to go with my choice of colors, but they do look good, don’t they?

Some Things To Keep In Mind…

Start with rough but light pencil strokes that you can work into the shapes you want.

Once you have your rough drawing completed, go over it in a darker stroke for your final drawing.

Add shading and/or color to complete if desired.
